About B & C Construction
B&C Contractors Ltd is a construction company based in Carrickmacross Co Monaghan. It was established for in 1974 and now operates ISO9001:2008 and OHSAS18001:2007. Our client base extends from Dublin to Belfast and includes project such as housing developments, industrial units, retail outlets and hotels.
Our construction planning process is key to any development we undertake and is headed by the hands on Director, Colm McBride BSc.Eng(Hons) in Struct.Engineering, Dip.Eng.Dip.Envir.Eng.C.Eng.M.I.E.I. We prepare a master programme from design, planning and construction of the project. Microsoft Project is used to prepare this programme and the wealth of experience from Senior Management along with proposed construction staff utilised. This preliminary programme is circulated to all designers, client and specialist sub-contractors for approval.
B&C Contractors has through the ISO9001:2008 formalised all of its procedures for each stage through the development process from post contract award meetings, to sign off.
B & C Contractors Ltd is a full current member of the Construction Industry Federation through the Master Builders & Contractors Association. We operate the Pension Mortality and Sick Pay Scheme on behalf of our employees.
Quality Management System
Quality Assurance
B&C Contractors Quality Management System operates on all of our contracts and we have recently received certification for OHSAS 18001:2007. The Quality Management System is a documented system to provide assurance to parties to the contract that the specification and other stated requirements of the contract will be achieved, within programme and costs parameters which form part of the contract. The documented procedures ensure a proven and standardised approach to the demands of the contract. B&C Contractors are currently being assessed for ISO9001:2008.

It sets out the company’s commitment to the assurance of quality on all contracts which we undertake.
Compliance with the requirements of our Quality Management System will be a condition of contract for all sub-contractors on projects, both domestic and nominated.
Quality Plan
Recognising that each construction project is a ‘one-off’ in terms of exact requirements of the Client, our Quality Management System provides for the production of a Quality Plan designed to suit the particular project. This plan details the infrastructure of the project, communication details, major material and logistic requirements, programme and other forward planning details required for a successful project.
The Quality Plan acts as a historical reference point for information and as an active document for recording the progress of the project through its various stages.
